Port Washington jetty glow destroys 2 houseboats, smaller vessel – WABC

Two houseboats and a smaller vessel were broken in a distracted glow during a jetty on Long Island overnight Monday.

The Port Washington glow dialect responded to a call of a vessel glow in a Haven Marina on Manhasset Bay in Port Washington only after 2 a.m.

Upon arrival, they located a fully-involved houseboat.

The glow afterwards widespread to a smaller vessel and another houseboat.

In total, 8 glow departments and 150 firefighters responded to a scene.

There were 3 injuries, all to adult civilians.

Houseboat owners George Martin talked about his and his wife’s extraordinary escape.

“We had only left to bed, it was kind of late,” he said. “I only listened something, felt something, whatever. we sat adult and looked, and a dilemma of my closet was on fire. It was burning. We ran upstairs. She grabbed her dungeon phone. She was job 911. We had a large glow extinguisher. we grabbed that, and when we pulled a pin, a hoop fell apart. So we couldn’t use it. And afterwards it started throwing faster, and so we ran out. We are not smokers. We don’t have matches. We don’t have lighters, any of that stuff.”

Martin does use propane to feverishness a boat, though he still says he has positively no thought how a glow started.
